Schooled by Gordon Korman

I couldn't stop laughing when I read the book Schooled by Gordon Korman. I've read some books by Korman before, and I loved them all, but this is his best work by far. It's about a teenage boy named Capricorn Anderson. Cap lives on a farm with his grandma and nobody else. They grow their own food, have a home school, and generally avoid other people. So imagine Cap's surprise when his grandma breaks her hip and he ends up enrolling in a local high school. Cap quickly has to learn how to survive the daily grind of life as a teenager. So you can probably guess that there's a lot of funny events. To find out how Cap survives, you have to read the book.

Fair Weather by Richard Peck

I just finished an awesome book called Fair Weather by Richard Peck. It's a historical fiction book about the times just before 1900. The main characters live on a farm in Illinois. They are country people, and are amazed when they get to travel to Chicago to visit the World's Fair. Rosie, a young girl, tells the story about their travels. She goes to Chicago with her little brother, Buster, her Grandpa, and her older sister Lottie. They have all kinds of really funny adventures and meet some famous people. But if you want to learn more about their experience, you have to check out the book. You won't regret it!
